Replacement Transport Container Storage Facility for Fuel Element Containers – ESTRAL
EWN GmbH in Lubmin / Rubenow
The ESTRAL facility is currently in the planning phase. It will be constructed on the EWN GmbH site in Lubmin/Rubenow, northeast of the Zwischenlager Nord interim storage facility.
This is due to the stricter safety requirements for the storage of fuel element containers that have been in place since 2011. As a result, the container storage facility must be rebuilt.
IQS is the general planner and is responsible for the overall plant design, including support with the permitting process—which involves public participation and coordination with experts—as well as for the construction.
