Konrad Final Repository, Salzgitter
Krantz is supporting the construction of two new buildings on the site of the Konrad Mine in Salzgitter. This is where Germany’s first final repository for low- and intermediate-level radioactive waste, approved under nuclear law, is being built. The planning and technical requirements for the buildings to be constructed are correspondingly high. These are being designed and built to be earthquake-resistant under the nuclear regulatory oversight of the Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management (BASE). Furthermore, particularly high safety requirements are imposed on the ventilation systems to be installed there. Krantz’s proven ventilation technology provides the foundation for safe and smooth operation of the systems. This is because we distinguish ourselves through our know-how and expertise, particularly in the field of nuclear ventilation systems and emergency systems.
