Feasibility Study on the Installation of an SNCR System on Two Boiler Units at the OQ Chemicals Industrial Power Plant in Oberhausen, Germany

To supply steam for internal plant use, OQ Chemicals operates an industrial power plant at its Oberhausen site, consisting of several boiler units. Boilers 7 and 8 each required retrofitting with a DeNOx system in accordance with the amendment to the 13th Federal Immission Control Ordinance (BImSchV) and the associated tightening of emission limits for NOx.

Iqony Solutions (IQS) assessed the feasibility of installing a DeNOx system based on the SNCR process using a specially developed testing and measurement program. Based on the test results and its own calculations, a preliminary design of the main components was developed, along with an estimate of the investment costs.
