Feasibility Study on DeNOx in a Biomass Cogeneration Plant
Brilon Biomass Cogeneration Plant, Germany
Emissions Reduction Measures for the Brilon Biomass Cogeneration Plant, Germany
The biomass power plant in Brilon serves as the energy hub supplying electricity and heat to the local industrial park. To ensure compliance with emission limits—particularly for NOx and CO—even after the revision of the 17th Federal Immission Control Ordinance (BImSchV), Iqony Solutions (IQS) was tasked with determining which of the primary and secondary measures for reducing NOx and CO emissions at the Brilon site were already technically up to date and which measures could be retrofitted.
The proportionality of these measures was also to be assessed from an economic perspective (cost-benefit analysis).
