We manage fuel procurement centrally for our own power station portfolio. By consolidating our purchases, we are able to achieve economies of scale. To ensure we can respond flexibly to fluctuations in demand, prices or exchange rates, we operate in various countries of origin. To meet the specific requirements of our power stations, we can source a wide variety of coal grades and produce coal blends.

To transport coal safely and cost-effectively to our power station sites, we have established our own logistics chain comprising transport routes and modes that are perfectly coordinated. The coal is transported to the power stations by sea-going vessels, inland waterway vessels and/or rail. Thanks to several intermediate storage facilities, coal can also be delivered at relatively short notice if required.
