Subsidiaries of Iqony Solutions
Our subsidiaries are located in Germany, Brazil, and Switzerland. Each location has its own unique requirements and conditions. Fortunately, our highly trained employees are always well versed in familiar territory—both in terms of the regulatory framework and in cultural, ecological, and economic terms.
Brazil has a population of 200 million – more than two and a half times that of Germany. The world's sixth-largest economy is focused on economic growth and increasing prosperity. As a result, the country's electricity consumption is rising by around four percent annually, and the trend is upward. Brazil is relying on all available resources to secure its energy supply. For example, 65 percent of the electricity required is generated in hydroelectric power plants. Wind power will also play an increasingly important role: Iqony's expertise is in demand for its expansion.
Iqony Solutions do Brasil offers operational management and engineering services and, from concept to construction management and operation, makes an important contribution to ensuring that Brazil's energy balance keeps pace with the demands of a rapidly growing economic power.
After taking over the operational management of gas processing plants from Parnaiba Gas Natural S.A. (PGN) in February 2016, Iqony Solutions do Brasil has also been providing operational management services for wind farms and hydroelectric power plants with a capacity of almost 1,500 MW since the beginning of 2017. The plants are controlled centrally via a control center in Rio de Janeiro. Around 100 experienced employees are employed by Iqony Solutions do Brasil for this purpose. These projects form an excellent basis for Iqony to position itself both in Brazil and internationally in the growing business field of wind and hydro power plant management.

Switzerland is also facing major energy industry challenges, not least due to the effects of the energy transition in Germany: decentralization and flexibility are in demand. Energy suppliers are increasingly redirecting their investments toward renewable energies.
Nevertheless, Switzerland remains an attractive future market for Iqony Solutions thanks to the stable planning horizon offered by nuclear technology. Numerous showcase projects make our subsidiary Iqony Solutions Schweiz GmbH a valued partner in the areas of waste disposal and power plant safety. We plan to expand our activities here in the industrial customer and renewable energy sectors.
During the construction of a new storage hall for the interim storage of dismantled power plant components (active storage hall) at the Leibstadt nuclear power plant in Switzerland, Iqony Solutions took on the redesign and reconstruction of the power plant systems located on the construction site, in addition to general planning, project planning, tendering, and construction supervision. During the implementation phase, Iqony Solutions also provided assembly and construction management services until commissioning was completed.

Since the beginning of 2018, Krantz GmbH, headquartered in Aachen, has been part of Iqony Solutions.
Founded in 1882 by the eponymous engineer Hermann Krantz, the company today develops, designs, manufactures, and markets air ducting, heating, and cooling systems for ceiling, wall, floor, and facade installation. Krantz GmbH also produces filter and shut-off systems, is an expert in industrial exhaust air purification, and has made a name for itself in the field of ventilation systems in power plants, nuclear facilities, and industrial plants, including their planning, construction, maintenance, and testing. In the company's own Research & Development Center, covering an area of 1,000 square meters, targeted research and development is carried out on the subject of air in a laboratory test hall equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
The company's own production facilities in Aachen and Mallersdorf (Bavaria) comply with the relevant standards and offer tailor-made solutions for the production of ventilation components.
