The protection of personal data is very important to us. That is why we process your data in accordance with the provisions of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable legal provisions on the protection of personal data and data security.
If you are a prospective customer or existing customer and contact us via our email addresses fernwaerme@iqony.energy and wartungsvertrag-fw@iqony.energy , you will reach our customer service team. Our service provider will process your enquiry centrally and forward it to the relevant department.
The following information applies to our customers and prospective customers, as well as to the district heating customers and prospective customers of our partners for whom we act as a processor:

Iqony Fernwärme GmbH is part of the Steag Iqony Group. This is the brand under which STEAG GmbH bundles its business activities. Your contractual partner is generally responsible for the processing of personal data of business customers. The Group Data Protection Officer is the central point of contact for all data subject matters relating to Iqony Fernwärme GmbH and the aforementioned partners.

3. Data processed and their origin
The categories of personal data we process include, by way of example, the following:
Business contact information, such as first and last name, address, telephone number, mobile number, fax number and email address;
Information about professional activity;
Payment data, such as information required for the processing of payment transactions or fraud prevention.
We receive such personal data either directly from you (e.g. in the course of correspondence that we have with you), or the data comes from your employer as our business partner.
4. Purposes and legal bases for processing
We process your data in order to deal with your enquiry. This may involve questions about initiating a contract or questions relating to your existing contract or the maintenance of your system. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) b GDPR.
5. Data recipients
To increase efficiency, we are supported by an external service provider who also handles our telephone customer service. The service provider has access to our email addresses fernwaerme@iqony.energy and wartungsvertrag-fw@iqony.energyand also responds to your (pre-)contractual enquiries.

Your data is processed on our behalf by our service provider Capita Energie Service GmbH, Gatherhofstr. 8, 47804 Krefeld, with whom we have concluded a data processing agreement.
We may transfer personal data to courts, supervisory authorities or law firms to the extent that this is legally permissible and necessary in order to comply with applicable law or to assert, exercise or defend legal claims (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
6. Duration of data storage
We delete your personal data as soon as it is no longer required for the above-mentioned purposes, unless statutory retention obligations prevent deletion. The legal obligations to provide evidence and retain data, which are regulated in the German Commercial Code and the German Fiscal Code, among others, amount to up to ten years.
8. Your rights
You have a right to information, i.e. you can request that we disclose all the personal information we have stored (Art. 15 GDPR). In addition, you can also request rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) or erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) or restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR in conjunction with Section 19 BDSG).
