Combined cycle optimisation: precision despite volatility

Gas and steam power stations – particularly those utilising steam or district heating – are significantly more volatile than conventional plants due to strong environmental influences and require robust reference models for a reliable technical assessment.

This is the only way to reliably identify changes at an early stage and operate the plant optimally under given boundary conditions – regardless of the manufacturer of the main components. Gas turbine plants, whether single-shaft or multi-shaft designs, can be reliably identified using data validation based on VDI 2048, and the effects of process deviations, ageing, control system adjustments and maintenance measures.

The focus of our solutions in the context of combined cycle power plants is on monitoring process performance and data quality, evaluating district heating and steam extraction for the overall process, and predictive maintenance tools. The evaluation of the waste heat boiler in terms of leaks and wear and tear – particularly during flexible operation – is also a key focus of System Technologies’ digital solutions.
